FAQ

How long will it take for me to get organized?

Great question! The answer varies depending on your goals and your situation. For clients outside northern Ohio, I'm available for up to five consecutive days. That's enough to take care of packing for a move, settling in after one, or sorting through an entire household after a loved one has passed away. For clients in northern Ohio, I'm available on a more long-term basis. While most projects can be completed in one week or less, I have worked with clients who struggle to deal with hoarding behavior for up to 6 months.

Why should I work with Home Harmonizers?

So many ways to answer that question! Because I do the best work at reasonable prices - that's one answer. Because I always put customer satisfaction first. Because I work fast, and make your complicated decisions as simple as possible. Best of all, I take care to find good homes for the stuff you no longer want to keep, whether that home is a recycling bin, your local Goodwill, or another local non-profit thrift store. I never charge for getting your donations (or your recycling) delivered, so you're never left with a pile of stuff to deal with after I've worked for you.

Do I need to be there while you work?

That depends on your goals and how involved in the process you want to be. You should plan to be on site for at least one hour the first time we meet, so we can clarify your goals and priorities. In some cases, my work will be most effective if you're on site to answer questions and make decisions. In other cases, after our first meeting I'll be able to work independently. It all depends on what works for you.

What hours are you open?

As a one-person operation, my hours are entirely flexible. For local projects, I generally work in the afternoons and evenings, between 2 and 10 pm, so you can be present for most of the time I'm on site. For longer-term projects or those that require travel, I'll alter my work schedule to match yours. Just let me know what you need by filling out my contact form.

How much does harmonizing cost?

My rate for one day of work (8-10 hours) is $500. For one full week of work, my rate is $2,500. Additional travel costs apply for clients out of state. I'll send you a custom quote for your project if you answer three simple questions.

To ensure that my help is affordable to clients in any financial situation, I offer a sliding scale to elders, those dealing with hardship of any kind, including illness, and non-profits. The sliding scale discounts my rate by up to 50%.

Where do you donate my stuff?

I've carefully chosen several non-profit resale shops to support in cities where I regularly work. I'm always on the lookout for more great non-profit resale shops to partner with, so let me know if you have a favorite!

Goodwill (national) enhances the dignity and quality of life of individuals, families, and communities by eliminating barriers to opportunity and helping people in need reach their fullest potential through learning and the power of work.
